Playwright # 2 Cassie M. Seinuk
Cassie M. Seinuk is a Jewish Cuban playwright, visual artist, and AEA stage manager, with an MFA in Writing for Stage and Screen from Lesley University, and a BA from Brandeis University with High Honors in Theatre Arts and Creative Writing. Seinuk's full-length play, From The Deep, is the 2014 winner of the Pestalozzi New Play Prize at the Firehouse Center for the Arts and the second place recipient of the 2014 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Latinidad Playwriting Award. Seinuk is a nominee for the National 10-minute Award at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for her play Leave A Message. Seinuk’s 10-minute play Occupy Hallmark was produced in July 2013 as a Final 30ist at the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival (OOB). Additionally, her one-act play, The Muse, was a semi-finalist at the OOB in 2011, a semi-finalist in Manhattan Rep's One Act Competition in 2012, and a 2013 semi-finalist at The Warner Theatre's Playwrights Festival. Seinuk’s short works have been produced nationally with over 20 productions. Her full-length, Runner: The Novel The Play, received a workshop in Chicago (Echoes Theatre); her full-length Meet Me In The Bathroom will have its third staged reading in early 2014. Her full-length Eyes Shut. Door Open received a reading with Wax Wings Productions in November 2013.
