This invitation isn't for "theater people." Although you guys should pay attention to this, too. Right now, we'd like to have the attention of all of the "friends and family of the theater people." You guys who actually are interested in the theater that your friends make.
It's time you took the next big step in educating yourself in Boston theater. Go to the Greater Boston Theater Expo. More than 50 theaters will be exhibiting there: large and small, established and brand new, like Boston Public Works.
You probably don't know how important you are to Boston theater. Do you know how people say children are our future? That's kind of what you are. You're the people who are interested in theater, and probably all of the arts, too. They all kind of go hand in hand. Your interest is real, and it needs to be nurtured. Because while we're making theater, we still need, well, butts in the seats. (Sorry, but we are all friends here, and we can talk frankly, can't we?) You're the future patrons, and you're just as important as the actors and playwrights and all the other artists. We're in this together.
It's a friendly event, and when you tell people you came because you're interested in theater you'll get a friend for life. Since it is a theater crowd it will be fun. A lot of the theaters will be giving things away. You'll probably get numerous chances to win free tickets. When you stop by the Boston Public Works' booth, you'll get the chance to be a famous playwright. And that's all we're saying about that.
